ChatGPT sets pace for the next fastest application adoption
Some takeaways from the runaway success of ChatGPT :
- A Functional product/service doesn’t need publicity. The word spreads like wildfire (100 million monthly active users in just two months)
- Make it easy for the user. It cant get easier : Just ask and ChatGPT will deliver the outcome minus the noise/distraction.
- Innovation & Differentiation is key. Its a Blue Ocean strategy application. Create something NEW !!
- Monetize in time. They were quick to start offering a paid subscription for those who were serious fans. The monthly $20 monthly subscription is a great move to offer : Better quality & kick start monetizing as early in the product life-cycle. Many a brands perished trying to just keep increasing numbers and postponing date of monetization.
Summary
In summary, ChatGPT captured imagination of the world in bringing in something that did not capture mass imagination in the past and something that solved a problem for the end user. In this process, they have probably altered the path to future for many organizations in most industries, but to the disappointment of one Giant organization whose flagship offering’s future came into question : Google !!
But, knowing Google, i am sure they have welcomed the rough weather to rediscover themselves and stay course on remaining valuable to customers.
Arch rival Microsoft wasted no time in doubling down it’s investments into the parent company of ChatGPT [ OpenAI ] and betting on the future of GenerativeAI. By doing this, Microsoft is positioning themselves to revive their fortunes in the space of Search.
